Dukes at Oaklands Street Community Garden

The Dukes of Uke are excited to be performing at the Oaklands St Community Garden at Alexandra Hills on 25th August. This annual event is sure to draw a good crowd, and we’ll be putting our best open-air garden themed songs forward.
Players: Dress is the usual Dukes polo shirt and dark trousers. The set starts at 11:30am so plan to arrive about 30 minutes beforehand. We have just a few more get-togethers before the day, so try to come to as many of these as you can.

Make Music Day 21st June

Everyone is welcome to come to a free music jam in the Binary Studio on Friday 21st June to celebrate Make Music Day. This worldwide event will see music played at venues and on the streets in towns and cities across the globe.

So bring along your uke (or other instrument) for a strum and sing at 9:30am, followed by morning tea at 10:30am (bring a plate to share).

Later on we will take to the streets and play from our memorized list (see the Dukes of Uke Charts page for song titles)

Swing Time performance

The Dukes of Uke will perform 3 songs at the Swing Time Club event on Sunday 19th May.
We will open proceedings at the start of the afternoon at 1:45pm

Vic Kena Ukulele Event at Binary Music

Everyone at Binary Music is excited about the upcoming Vic Kena Ukulele Event this Saturday 15th December at 2pm at the Binary Music Studio.
Vic is a great musician and a favourite for his prodigious talent and skill on the uke, as well as his personality and leadership in uke jams. Bring your uke to join in the afternoon’s fun as we strum and sing, enjoy a cuppa and see Vic and his band in action. The Dukes are looking forward to performing their set of scary songs for the Manly Halloween Street Party on Saturday 27th October.
Our set kicks off at 2pm under the trees at the Marketplace Stage.

Make Music Day 21st June


The Dukes will be performing around Cleveland on international Make Music Day this Thursday 21st June. Look out for us roaming after 12 o’clock in Bloomfield St. Make Music Day is a worldwide day to celebrate singing, playing and enjoying music making.

Uke Jam Day on 16th June

Everyone is looking forward to our big Uke Jam Day on Saturday 16th June at the Binary Music Studio. We hope you can join us starting at 9am with the Big Uke Jam singalong, including guest groups and the fabulous Vic Kena performing and leading part of the Jam.

At noon, we are breaking for lunch across the road at laBella Italian, with fine food and good music to keep us going, then afternoon workshops from 2:30pm to finish off the day.

Dukes to support Relay for Life

The Dukes performance group is looking forward to their performance this Saturday 19th May at 4pm in support of the Cancer Council’s fundraiser – Relay for Life. Join us at the Cleveland Showgrounds and support the walkers in this annual event – your donation will be greatly appreciated.

Kenilworth Uke Fiesta

Owing to the Kenilworth Uke Fiesta being on this weekend, there will be no Advanced Class this Saturday morning (21st April).
Our RCU’s group are looking forward to their performance at Kenilworth on Sunday 22nd at 11am.

Heritage & Harmony Fiesta

We are all looking forward to our Dukes of Uke performance at the Redland Museum’s Heritage & Harmony Fiesta on 18th March. This free event is a celebration of multiculturalism and includes dancing, singing and foods from around the world. Our 30 minute set commences at 11:15am and we’re all excited to be part of this event.
